Laura Zink de Diaz
Prolinguistica

Laura is a teacher,
administrator and consultant in second language acquisition with
over 20 years of experience from the elementary to the university
level in the United States and South America.
Laura has taught English as a Foreign Language, Spanish, French
and Russian. During the 1990s, she was instrumental in establishing
a comprehension-based FL program that took her school from offering
the traditional 2 languages to college bound students, to 6 languages,
in a highly successful program where ALL students studied a language.
More recently, in her home state of Washington, Laura served as
Mount Vernon School District's director of Migrant Education and
State Transitional Bilingual programs, where she focused on instructional
reform .
She is the 2002 Washington State Migrant Education Program Administrator
of the Year. Over the last 14 years Laura has presented workshops
on TPR and related language teaching strategies, integrating technology
into language instruction, and Total Quality Education. She is a
founder of CBTT, and as such organized and coordinated internationally
attended conferences for FL and ESL teachers throughout the l990s.
She is the author of a number of books for
language teachers, including The Talking T-Shirt and Other Writing
Projects for FL and ESL Students and What Can I Leave for
My Sub? Quick and Easy Activities for your Substitute Teacher.
Today Laura, as founder and president of Prolinguistica Corporation,
is dedicated to bringing the best instructional methods to all teachers,
whether their focus is on foreign language, ESL, or teaching grade
level content to English language learners.
